The Power of Social Networks and the Supreme Court

As social networks begin to connect more and more Americans to the political pulse of the country, election year 2012 will be very interesting indeed..

As election year 2012 draws ever closer, join Charley and Eva for quite a ride as we storm through the issues this week — from the President’s town hall at LinkedIn, to the GOP “young guns” (Cantor, McCarthy and Ryan) at Facebook and then to a preview of the most interesting cases the Supreme Court will be taking this year.

As both parties are taking social network platforms very seriously in the run-up to the 2012 election, we are beginning to see a number of recurring issues taking center stage in the minds of the electorate. At both LinkedIn and Facebook on Monday, these include jobs, entitlement reform, tax reform and the state of the public education system.

While American citizens begin to make up their minds on the President and his rival GOP candidates, the nine justices, set to reconvene next week, are given the task of ruling on the constitutionality of the administration’s health care bill and what the Chicago appeals court called big-brother style GPS tracking. Stay tuned for updates on these cases and a full round-up of the key cases to watch out for this season.

In other news this week, our partners at NFIB over in Washington D.C, announced the news that in conjunction with Facebook, small business owners will have the chance to win 10 million dollars of free Facebook advertising at the beginning of next year. We will keep you updated on this exciting development as more information begins to trickle-in.

It was a quick one this week, but exciting as ever.

Take a listen and please, tell us what you think.
